Row in First

by PTR Beat Reporter

Well, here we are again. Another season, another shot at softball glory. Or, more realistically, another chance to drink some beers and complain about our backs. But hey, that's why we love it, right?

The season kicked off this week with a mixed bag of results for your Petty Theft Row squad. A tie and a win. Parity in real time. First, we battled @PlatanoPower to a 1-1 stalemate @PlatanoPower @ Petty Theft Row (Sep 06). Look, ties happen, even if they feel a little unsatisfying. It's like ordering a pizza and only getting half. You ate something, but you're still a little hungry.

On the bright side, Petty Theft Row followed up the tie with a decisive 5-0 victory over @The Dirty Water Dawgs @Petty Theft Row @ The Dirty Water Dawgs (Sep 06). Five unanswered runs tell the story there.

Across the league, it was a busy opening weekend. @Coastal Elites rebounded from a 3-2 loss to @The Dirty Water Dawgs with a 19-5 trouncing of @The Goodfellas II. Someone woke up feeling dangerous. Elsewhere, @PlatanoPower kept busy notching a 7-4 win over @The Traffic. All in all, a pretty typical day of rec league softball, if you ask me.

As it stands, both Petty Theft Row and @PlatanoPower sit atop the standings at 1-0-1, while @Coastal Elites and @The Dirty Water Dawgs are knotted at 1-1. The rest of the league? Well, they’ve got some catching up to do. It is a long season, folks. Anything can happen. We are chasing the dream of mediocrity, one game at a time.

Next up, it's a double-header on September 27th against @The Goodfellas II and The Lobsters. A chance to build some momentum, maybe grab two wins and really get this season rolling. Or, you know, continue to tread water. Either way, we’ll be out there, giving it our all. See you at the fields.
