Row Rebounds, Climbs Standings

by PTR Beat Reporter

Look, we're not going to dwell on the past. Last week was a tough opener, a one-run heartbreaker against @Diamond Dogs that left a lingering taste of "what if?" But this week, the script flipped, and the Row delivered. Big. Let’s get into it.

Saturday was a double-header at home base, North Meadow Field, and the energy was palpable. First up, @Los Cerdos rolled onto Field 6, and let's just say the Row showed them who owns the turf. A decisive 10-2 victory @Los Cerdos @ Petty Theft Row (Jun 20) put us squarely in the win column for the summer season, and it felt good. Real good. Sometimes you just need to get on the board, shake off the rust, and remember what winning feels like. This was that game.

Then, not content to rest on those laurels, the Row headed over to Field 4 for a date with @Saturday Free Agent 1. And if the first game was decisive, this one was a statement. Petty Theft Row absolutely dominated, cruising to an 18-3 rout @Petty Theft Row @ Saturday Free Agent 1 (Jun 20). Eighteen runs in slow pitch? That’s not just hitting, that’s an offensive clinic. It was the kind of performance that makes you wonder what kind of magic was in the bats that day.

These two big wins completely reset the season's narrative. After starting 0-1, the Row now sits at a respectable 2-1, perched at third in the league standings. @Diamond Dogs is still leading the pack with an undefeated 3-0 record, having edged out @Scrappys 13-10 this week. Hot on their heels are @The Traffic, also perfect at 2-0 after taking down @The Warriors 11-7 and later steamrolling @The Hit List 17-2.

Elsewhere around the league, @The Lobsters had a monstrous 18-0 victory over @Scrappys, which, OUCH. That’s a long day at the park. @The Hit List bounced back from their loss to @The Traffic to beat @Los Cerdos 15-6, showing some resilience. And @The Warriors, despite their loss to @The Traffic, still managed to put up a huge 17-1 win against @Saturday Free Agent 1. It's clear that some teams are finding their stride early, while others, like @Scrappys (0-2), @Los Cerdos (0-2), and @Saturday Free Agent 1 (0-3), are still searching for that first W.

Looking ahead, the Row has another Saturday date next week, June 27th, against @Saturday Free Agent Team 2 over on North Meadow Field 6. After the offensive explosion this week, the team will be looking to keep that momentum rolling. Two wins is a great way to wash away the memory of an opening day stumble. Our season starts now, officially. Let's see if we can keep climbing.
