Row Recovers on Saturday

by PTR Beat Reporter

Look, sometimes you just need a Saturday to wash the taste of last week out of your mouth, and Petty Theft Row did just that. After starting the Fall 2026 season with a dominant win against @Wingdingers and then a humbling loss to early-season powerhouse @Beast, the Row found its stride this past Saturday, notching two crucial home wins on the Great Lawn. You love to see it.

First up, a showdown with @Scrappys. The Row came out swinging, plain and simple, putting up a decisive 14-4 victory. A ten-run difference is exactly the kind of statement you want to make when you're looking to climb the standings. No drama, just good, old-fashioned slow-pitch softball. Then, in the second tilt of the day, things got a little more interesting. Facing @Super Sluggers, Petty Theft Row dug deep and pulled out a tight 4-3 win. Those low-scoring grinders? That’s where character is built, folks. Holding an opponent to three runs while finding just enough offense to sneak across four of your own – that's the mark of a team figuring things out, learning how to win the close ones. Two wins, two different kinds of games, and suddenly, the Row's record looks a whole lot healthier.

With those two victories in the books, Petty Theft Row now stands at 3 wins and 1 loss. That puts us squarely in a four-way tie for fourth place in the league alongside @Ball Busters and @Saturday Men's Free Agent Team 1. The top of the table sees @The Lobsters and @The Traffic both sitting pretty at 5 wins and 1 loss, proving they're serious contenders right out of the gate. We're still keeping an eye on @Beast, who remain undefeated at 2 wins and 0 losses, just behind us in the standings but with fewer games played.

Around the league this past Saturday, there were some barn burners. @The Warriors handed @The Lobsters their first loss, an 8-7 nail-biter that proves anyone can be beaten on any given Saturday. @The Lobsters still managed to snag two other wins, a 14-4 trouncing of @Old Crow Crows and a 10-0 shutout against @Bonnie Blue Jays. @The Traffic also had a strong showing, defeating @Not So Average Joes 16-15 in what had to be a wild game, and then cruising past @Ball Busters 12-3. Meanwhile, @Saturday Men's Free Agent Team 1 kept things interesting with a 9-4 win over @Wingdingers and an 11-11 tie against @The Dirty Water Dawgs. No easy games in this league, not for anybody.

So, where do we go from here? Petty Theft Row is back in action next Saturday, September 26th, against @Los Cerdos at Riverside Park Field 9. This is a chance to keep that momentum rolling, to solidify our place near the top of the standings. Two wins this past week—one a romp, one a nail-biter—showed this team has grit. Let's see if we can carry that confidence onto the field and keep this winning streak alive. The Fall 2026 season is heating up, and the Row is ready to ride.
