Row Split, Tread Water

by PTR Beat Reporter

Petty Theft Row: still figuring things out. After a rough patch, the Row managed to right the ship this week, splitting a Saturday double-header. A brutal morning loss was followed by a narrow, much-needed victory.

First up, a dispiriting 0-9 loss to @Beast. It was a tough one out at North Meadow Field 1. No sugarcoating it — the bats went silent, and @Beast cruised to an easy win. It's the kind of game you just have to flush and move on from, hope it doesn't linger.

But flush it they did, rebounding later in the day with a 6-5 edge over @Fattened Calves. A tight, tense affair, the kind of win that can turn a season around. It wasn't pretty, but who cares? A W is a W.

The Row now sit at 3-4, mired in the middle of the pack. The top of the league is starting to separate itself. @The Lobsters are running away with it at 8-0. @Beast is close behind at 7-1 after their win against the Row and a dominant 15-0 performance against @The Reservoir Dogs. @The Warriors are still lurking at 7-3, even after @The Traffic topped them 9-8 this week. Speaking of @The Traffic, they had a good week, also defeating @The Barracudas 11-6. @The Hit List is still up there with six wins after a staggering 29-4 victory over @Free Agent Team 3. It was a busy week for @The Dirty Water Dawgs, who took down @The Angels (10-8) and [FORFEITED] (11-5). The middle tiers are jockeying for position, with @The Angels at 6-3-1 and @Fattened Calves at 6-4 respectively.

The Row's offense remains a riddle wrapped in an enigma, dusted with crushed expectations. We've seen flashes of brilliance, like the 20-run explosion against @Free Agent Team 2 a few weeks back. But then come the duds, the games where it feels like we're swinging underwater. It's that boom-or-bust inconsistency that keeps us from truly contending. Can they find that middle ground?

Looking ahead, it's a double-header next week against @The Dirty Water Dawgs and @Free Agent Team 3. A chance to string together some wins, build some momentum, and maybe, just maybe, climb out of the scrum in the standings. Time to string together some wins.
