Row Stumbles

by PTR Beat Reporter

Tough week for the Row, no sugarcoating it. Saturday brought a mixed bag of results, ending with a 4-3-1 record and a bit of a thud back to earth. One game went down to the wire but ended in a tie, the other was a decisive loss.

First up, Petty Theft Row faced @Fattened Calves, ending in a 6-6 tie. A tie? In slow pitch softball? Believe it. Both teams battled, but neither could pull ahead. The Row then faced @The Lobsters, who prevailed with an 11-1 victory. It wasn't Petty Theft Row's best showing, to say the least. The bats went quiet, and @The Lobsters took full advantage.

Across the Summer Manhattan league, there was plenty of action to shake up the standings. @Hoyas continued their dominant march with a 9-0 triumph over @The Lobsters, cementing their place at the top with a perfect 8-0 record. @The Bat Men had a mixed day, dropping a 6-4 game to @The Warriors but then rebounding to thump @Wingdingers 11-0. Elsewhere, @The Goodfellas managed a 4-2 victory over @Uptown Knights, who are still searching for their first win. Desperate times. @The Traffic finally broke through, securing a 15-0 victory against @Baby Cakes. @Fattened Calves also defeated @Rebels 9-7 in their other game.

The top of the league is starting to take shape. @Hoyas lead at 8-0, with @The Lobsters in second at 6-1. @The Bat Men sit at 6-3. Petty Theft Row is now in 5th, tied with @The Warriors at 4-3-1; the Row will need to pick it up to avoid falling into the middle of the pack. At the bottom, @Uptown Knights are still looking for their first win at 0-9.

Petty Theft Row has a double-header on deck next Saturday against @The Bat Men and @The Goodfellas. The Row will be looking to measure themselves against @The Bat Men and try to reclaim that winning feeling.
